Rocky Mountain Chapter – VHPA

Meeting convened at home of Mike Law.
Meeting opened with a prayer.
Dawson Hubert attended his first meeting.
After Minutes were approved and Treasurer's report approved, Mike Law reported that the check from National for the sale of the T-shirts was deposited. It was for $1098.

Law reported on status of the Calendar and the Directory. Turner Publishing is taking orders for the calendar and the Directory has been at the Distributor for a couple weeks now. We should all receive it soon. He also gave some info on the Las Vegas arrangements. He said we were on to do the Vegas Registration.

Discussed doing something to commemorate the deaths of George Neilsen and Roger Ratzlaff. Discussed doing something like buying a brick from the Vietnam Memorial. Maybe Chapter would pitch in $25 or $50 and we would make up the rest from contributions from the members. Mike Law will look into it.

Ellwood wasn't in attendance so there was no report on the 501©2 status, nor payments to members who loaned $ for the Chapter table at the Reunion.

Fickes talked about the Trailer project and provided a handout. Everyone will look over the handout and decide about the project at the next meeting.

Any Huey project will not be addressed until we get 501©3 status.

Talked about the website and getting someone on a contract to do it. Terry Sullivan will look into the possibilities. We want to put pictures on the site and keep the information current. Law and I volunteered to do a newsletter. Put out one for the Jan meeting. We will invite the crewmembers to the Jan Meeting. Mike will send out a flyer on it.

Decided to have a good yearly agenda laid out for the Jan meeting with the crewmembers. Also have a newsletter and an interesting agenda for that meeting. Fred Lyssy also volunteered to help on this. Suggest I get our EC together or on Conference call to lay it out.

Activities over the next months:

• 3 Nov Football game at AFA. Terry will get tickets and line up the tailgate. Will have to send out a flyer and emails to get the word out. Terry will get the details to Mike who will then put out a flyer.
• No December meeting.
• January meeting at the VFW with crewmembers. Mike has a mailing list for them and will send out a flyer invitation.
• February meeting. Terry is looking into getting a deal at the Broadmoor so we can have the meeting in the Springs and try to get the Colorado Springs guys involved. Terry talked about $99 a night.
• Terry Sullivan also suggested a Ski weekend this year for an event. Date not determined.

Check of $150 was given to Mike to pay for some expenses of the meeting today (potluck) and cost of the two mailings (Football and Jan meeting).

Potluck lunch was served.

After the potLuck, Bill Robie showed his slides.
