Minutes from March 2005 Chapter Meeting
President Bill Robie called the meeting to order at approximately 12:53 P.M. at the Buffalo Rose Saloon in Golden, Colorado.
The Proposed Minutes for the February 12, 2005 meeting were presented by Secretary Roger D. Patterson. Moved to accept by Greg Mann and seconded by Ed Fickes. Approved.
The Treasurer’s Report for March 19, 2005 was presented by Treasurer Roger D. Patterson. Motion to accept made by Lyle Borders and seconded by Don Rice. Approved.
Mike Law, Newsletter Editor, addressed the upcoming issue of the Newsletter. Mike asked all members to assist in providing articles and pictures for publication.
Don Rice volunteered to bring his kitchen trailer to where-ever our trailer museum is displayed. Don and his wife, Donna, will serve food. All profits from the food sells will go to the Trailer fund.
Jim McNamee, Museum Curator, reminded everyone to provide a list to him of the Vietnam memorabilia members would like to loan or donate to the Museum.
Rick Beaver gave a status of the trailer work and said that cabinets and the trim still need to be installed.
Jim McNamee said that the Trailer Interior Design Committee will meet soon.
President Robie asked about the bar design and layout. Several layouts were discussed.
President Robie also asked about the audio/visual plans. After some discussion, Lyle Borders and Greg Mann offered to assist Jim McNamee with that feature.
Mike Law reminded the members that the outside of the trailer needs cleaning and peppering for the painting. Mike will contact Wyze Gyzes Painting to clarify what else needs to be done.
It was suggested that operating guidelines be developed for the trailer when it is on display. It was also suggested that Veterans Day in Greeley might be the first display of the trailer.
President Robie reminded members that the VHPA Chapter does not qualify to get a Huey from the Government. In order to get a Huey, we will have to join in with one of the agencies that do qualify.
Greg Mann said that the operating cost of his Enstrom 280E helicopter is $350 an hour.
Bill Robie said that he will obtain some of the wooden helicopter models for the Chapter and Angel Fire.
Possible Social events were discussed. Suggestions included an event at Eric Brettschneider’s in Colorado Springs this summer; a golf outing at Plum Creek; and a pig roast by Don Rice.
Ed Fickes moved to pay Brian Foote $45.07 for reproduction and mailing for the last Newsletter he put out. Seconded by Jim McNamee and Approved.
Don Rice made a motion to reimburse Rick Beaver $500 for the cost of his expenditures on the Trailer. A Second was made and the motion was Approved.
Jim McNamee addressed having another Pig Roast at the VA Hospital for the patients there. The Chapter agreed to do it again.
The meeting adjourned at 2:45 P.M.
