Minutes from June 2005 Chapter Meeting

President Bill Robie called the meeting to order at 10:20 A.M. at “T-WA Inn and introduced the owner of the restaurant.

President Robie asked everyone to introduce themselves and their spouses and guests if present. Mike Tobias had not attended a meeting in sometime and reintroduced himself.

The Minutes of the April 16, 2005 meeting were distributed and reviewed by those present. A motion was made by Walt Winter to approve the Minutes, and seconded by Jerry Marshall. The motion passed.

Roger Patterson reviewed the Treasurer’s Report for May 21, 2005. Fred Lyssy made a motion to accept the Report. Jerry Marshall seconded the motion and the majority voted approval.

Rick Beaver reviewed the status of the Trailer. Rick stated that the majority of the interior is complete and the need now is to acquire the audio-visual equipment. Bill Robie included his thoughts on the Trailer.

Vice President and Museum Curator Jim McNamee reviewed the effort of the Interior Design Committee. Jim reminded everyone that the finished Shadow Boxes would be available for distribution at the August 20 meeting at the Buffalo Rose in Golden.

Mike Law reviewed the status of the painting for the outside of the Trailer. He stated that the painting and murals will be a costly effort.

Bill Robie reviewed the plan for selling the wooden models and stated he is placing the order for the models.

Mike Law reminded everyone that he would welcome stories and pictures for the Quarterly Newsletter.

Bill Robe began the annual Chapter Elections by announcing a list of nominees. Nominations from the floor were also solicited. Dave Greene was elected Vice President and Gary Hurelle was elected Junior Member-at-Large.

Jim McNamee reminded everyone that the Pig Roast for the veterans at the Veteran’s Hospital in Denver is set for September 10. He announced that we plan on spotting the Trailer there and will be asking for some donations for the Pig Roast.

Rick Beaver briefed everyone on a Website called http://www.anysoldier.com/. From that site anyone cal donate “Care Packages” or send letters to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

John Keller announced that he is selling 4 First Class Airline seats.

Fred Lyssy spoke on the motorcycle ride he took to Washington DC with Rolling Thunder. Fred said it was a moving experience. One of the sites Rolling Thunder stopped at was the Veterans Memorial in Louisville, KY.

President Robie set the August meeting for the Buffalo Rose in conjunction with a visit to the Trailer site to distribute the Shadow Boxes and inspect the Trailer progress.

The meeting and lunch closed at 12:00 noon.
