President Dave Greene called the meeting to order at 11:25 am at the Leprino Aviation hanger at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan (formerly Jeffco) Airport, and then turned the meeting over to Vice President Ed Fickes. Ed mentioned that the meeting would be short because of the family BBQ (hosted by Don Rice) and the helicopter rides (in a TH-55 type helicopter graciously provided by Randy Jensen). The April 21st meeting will be a short one, followed by a family picnic. The meeting will begin at 1100 hours at the Leprino Aviation hanger at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (formerly JEFFCO Airport). The hanger is located at 9626 Jeffco Airport Ave, Broomfield, CO, 80021. To get to the Leprino hangar turn northwest off of Wadsworth Blvd onto Jeffco Airport Ave. Turn in to the fourth driveway on the left and proceed to the parking lot. There will be a metal “9626″ sign at the turn. The hanger on the left of the drive is the Leprino hanger.
Don Rice will host the picnic, which will be a BBQ prepared by him. He will be donating the meat and beans. Attendees are asked to bring a generous side dish to share. The Chapter will provide beer, soda, and water. Donations to cover the liquid refreshments will be welcomed. The picnic will occur rain or shine, because we have shelter available.
In addition to the picnic, helicopter rides (in a TH-55 type helicopter) will be available for $25 per 1/4 hour or multiples thereof, weather permitting. The helicopter will be available from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. If you would like to reserve a time for a helicopter ride, contact Ed Fickes at 970-352-7060 or e-mail (VietVet6922@aol.com).
