Helicopter War Museum at the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Regional Fly-in
For the second year in a row, the EAA invited the chapter to display the Helicopter War Museum at the Regional Fly-in at Front Range Airport. The EAA assigned the museum a prime spot at the event, just inside the gate. Well over 15,000 people attended the 3-day event, which was held on June 22nd through the 24th, and many of them toured the museum. A large number of the visitors were families with children, which was great to see because of our goal to educate youth about the Vietnam War.
Chapter members Walt Winters and Jerry Marshall were there for every minute of the event, including setup on Thursday and teardown on Sunday afternoon. Members Ed Fickes and Jim McNamee were there for the setup and teardown and most of the rest of the event. Members Gary Hurelle, Steve Swaim, and Robert Brightwell served as museum docents on Saturday, which was very helpful because of the steady flow of visitors we had that day.
