Rocky Mountain Chapter – VHPA

Flight for Life pilot Pat Mahany will become the newest inductee into the Longs Peak Rescue Awards Hall of Fame, the Longs Peak Summit Club announced.  Pat and his paramedic Kevin Kelble were the helicopter crew members in August 2006 that flew through lightning, hail and high winds to perform a harrowing rescue mission on Longs Peak.  The induction banquet will take place at the Aspen Lodge in Estes Park on August 29, 2009.  Information for tickets can be obtained by calling 970-586-8133.

Cripple Creek, Colorado

Our Helicopter War Museum will be displayed in Cripple Creek this coming weekend.  Throughout the years, the City of Cripple Creek has had a tradition of honoring the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. This year, the community is proud to announce that tradition continues with Cripple Creek Honors America Armed Forces. This two-day event is scheduled for August 8-9 and will feature multiple festivities saluting the efforts of our military’s active duty and veterans.

August Chapter Meeting.

The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association will hold its August meeting on August 15 at the American Legion on the  southeast corner of Yale Avenue and Interstate 25.  The meeting begins at 10:00 AM.
